1. Little Bay
A fairytale! Belgrade is full of wonderful restaurants but this one is special. The interior, the food, the entree, the service, there is nothing “bad” to be said about this place! It looks like a small opera house. And it has bells on curtains so you can call your waiter by just ringing the bell. Smart! They have live, mostly classical music on certain days to circle the whole experience.
2. Dva Jelena
Apparently one of the oldest restaurants on this commercial street. It well deserved it’s attention, as the food and service is excellent. A bit on the high side of prices, however, it’s so well spent, that you’ll never regret it. We tried Pljeskavica, Becka snicla (Veal schnitzel), corn bread and the walnut pancake dessert.
3. Zavičaj
Best place to get traditional Serbian food. Perfect atmosphere, the service was really kind (they take your jacket and pull you the chair when you sit). The local meals were also great : incredible quantity of meat in the plate and very well cooked. It’s a great discovery, I recommend this place.
4. Mezestoran Dvoriste
It is a nice and cozy restaurant that serves Greek, Turkish, Serbian dishes. We shared several starters (called “meze”). My favorite was grilled cheese and beetroot salad with Greek yogurt. For the main course, I took goulash which was really tender and well seasoned. The acoustic band was preparing to start in the evening.
5. Sarajevski ćevap „To je to“
If you’re looking for a traditional Serbian dining experience then this is the place to go! Even the music was tailored to give an authentic feel, I kind of felt like I’d been transported 20 years in time with the style of music that circulated the restaurant. There’s quite an extensive range of meat dishes and condiments to try I’m going to go back and try their other types of meats.
6. Lovac
Lovac is a fantastic restaurant to taste traditional Serbian food. Recommended by locals and is absolutely wonderful. The service is wonderful, the staff is very attentive and offer great suggestions. The portions are very big, the choice of meets is excellent. We shared a special with venison, beef, and potatoes. The venison was juicy and flavorful, I absolutely loved it. The beer selection was nice and the Rakia was delicious, with a great many flavors to choose from.
7. Mala Fabrika Ukusa
An excellent restaurant in a beautiful private park. Peace and quiet is a sham in Belgrade especially if you are a few steps from the busiest road. Spacious restaurant with outdoor terrace and excellent children’s park. Decorated in antique style. Superior staff and expect high-level food. An exceptional offer of traditional cuisine and modern specialties. For those who can not read the Cyrillic alphabet will be a problem because everything is written in Cyrillic.
